The Peacock -- Aesop's Fables Poster

The fable, "The Peacock," is about a peacock who asks the Juno for beautiful feathers. He is granted these feathers, and shows off his beauty to the other animals. He then sees an eagle fly overhead, and he tries to fly with him but is unable because of his flamboyant feathers. The moral of the story is that one should never give up his freedom for pomp and show.
I tried to illustrate this by showing the eagle above the banner with flying birds surrounding him. The peacock is shown below the banner, because he is trapped on the ground since he cannot fly. He is surrounded by his beautiful feathers. The border of the poster is made up of feathers or a representation of wind, and I chose to have a representation of wind because when an eagle flies, he feels the wind on his wings.

Pattern

I designed this pattern with Swedish and Egyptian influences in mind. The floral, boxy, repetitive design is very common in Swedish design. I chose blue and purple as my color scheme because cool colors tend to be more relaxing, and I wanted a design that was not too chaotic. I wanted to create a pattern that would work well on a pillow cover or blanket.

Artistic License

This business card, designed by me, has a monochromatic purple design. My brand logo is placed within the camera, indicating to a customer what my talent is. The back is designed in a way that interests the viewer as well as gives information.

Envelope Collage

An envelope full of miscellaneous toys and candies was given to me as an assignment with the intention that I turn it into a work of art. I decided to make an underwater scene. The reflective quality of the water, turtle, clam, and fish were all hand drawn by me in PhotoShop.
